Esys has specific expertise in relation to the waste management and recycling sectors. .

We have undertaken analysis of recycled market shares and compiled detailed sectoral profiles of each material stream. The former study involved the development of a methodology to calculate the recycled market share of specific end products by volume and value which are a) manufactured in the UK and b) sold in the UK. This methodology was applied to 25 end products.

Specific regional analysis has looked at opportunities to work with the RDAs to deliver market development. More specific regional analysis of supply chains has also been undertaken including the supply chain for wood recycling and biomass sectors.

We have undertaken analysis of higher value markets for a range of recycling sectors including most notably glass and wood.

Several studies have informed WRAPs business support functions. This includes developing a strategy for the Materials Pricing Report and work on the provision of market intelligence in respect of international markets.

Most recently, Esys trialled methods for assessing business growth in recycling sectors in order to assess WRAP’s achievement of business plan targets
